David Sullivan Give Declan Rice what he wants
|
If Declan Rice leaves it’s not because he wants to leave it’s because Sullivan wants to pocket the money. Sullivan needs to make rice our top earner followed by Bowen and Paqueta
We all know Sullivan loves to spread rumours to the media that’s why the media are constantly talking about Rice.
If Rice wanted to leave he would have handed in a transfer request!

He doesn't WANT to leave- you can clearly tell, but he knows he HAS to leave in order to play at the highest level.
You could tell from everyone at the club talking in the last day or so, he's almost certainly off. Really shitty of BT to ask him straight up live after the game and he gave a very good answer.
Winning this gives us a SLIM shot of keeping him for another season at least, but Sullivan needs to convince him the club is going upward and being ambitious by sticking a large sum in the transfer kitty and getting a couple more top players in.
Almost certainly gone whatever, though. And I don;t blame him. We can't offer him what he deserves.

I Hope they have some decent targets in their sights and early on - that for sure would help.

He deserves title winning medals and regular champions league games. He won't ever get that with us. He's served us magnificently and he couldn't write a better script of leaving the club. Well deserved for a world class CDM

Can’t we just have a whip round and get rid of Sullivan. Call it a “go and do one”

He's defo off sadly. Nobes gave the game away by saying we need a lot of recruitment in the simmer whilst directly referencing Rice and the transfer links.

RoyaldocksGK . With that mentality it's a miracle we've even won the conference league. Man city were relegated 5 times between 83-01 now look at them . It never ceases to amaze me the amount of fans we have who like putting this great club down with defeatest crap like that .

Keeping him for one more year makes no sense at all. That would be kissing goodbye to £80 million (plus) for one season's performance. Sullivan's hands are tied unless Rice agrees to a contract extension, which is very unlikely however much he is offered.

Yep.
Unless Declan signs an extention there's no way the club can let his contract run down to just one year and he was offered the biggest contract ever put on the table in our history and he turned it down not that long ago. Yes we've won something now and are back in Europe next season but I doubt ,ultimately, that's going to change his mind unfortunately.

I think the head has been ruling the heart with Dec understandably so, and last night due to the emotion I think the heart was calling the shots briefly. In a perfect world he could stay and win the Europa which would put us in the Champions League but it's a long shot with so much at stake transfer fee wise. Wherever he goes he won't experience that again immediately because I can't imagine he will walk into anywhere as their Captain, maybe in a few years he might end up as a Skipper somewhere. Personally I'd love to see him sign a 3 year deal for big money, give it a couple of years where he will only be 26/27, then maybe move on but can't see it happening.

Winning trophies? Think we all know that's our lot for another 43 years!
Bloke deserves to be at a club challenging for silverware every season and I wish him well, as I doubt we'd be celebrating last night without him.

What an idiotic post. Everybody knows that Rice has been offered extremely lucrative contracts but has refused to sign them, preferring to stay on modest wages for a player of his status in order to be free to move on. And he has made it perfectly clear that, much as he loves West Ham, he wants to play in the CL.
The only way I can see him staying is if three things happen, and they probably need to start happening in the next few days:
1. Moyes needs to leave - he has taken us as far as he can and his style of football is dire. If we are all aware of this, you can be sure that the players are too.
2. Sullivan needs to leave. Likewise, he has taken us as far as he can.
3. Kretinski needs to take over and immediately appoint a top manager and embark on a big spending spree.

"Bloke deserves to be at a club challenging for silverware every season "...
Why can that not be West Ham? Just because they haven't met fan expectations in the past doesn't mean that they never will.
What would look better on a CV, helping a club attain and maintain regular European football or joining a club where the real hard work has already been done?

Grumps walks in, injects a dose of reality, walks out…
Totally agree though, him leaving is not the actual problem… making sure we have a good recruitment summer and using this win is…

He's off. End of.
Best we can hope for is
1) Full asking early in the window, so Sullivan doesn't enter into a protracted bullshit loop of negotiations and talking to the media and we can get on with acceptance and spend the money wisely on squad depth. 2) A return in the twilight of his career so he and we can enjoy playing at his spiritual home.

https://talksport.com/football/1449276/declan-rice-west-ham-david-sullivan-transfer-arsenal/
When asked whether the historic victory over Fiorentina was Rice's last match in a West Ham shirt, Sullivan told talkSPORT: "I think it has to be.
"We promised him he could go. He set his heart on going.
"You can't ask for a man who has committed more to us this season.
"In due course, he has to get on and we have to get a replacement - or several replacements.
"It's not something we want to happen. We offered him £200,000-a-week 18 months ago. He turned it down.
"It's cost him £10million to stay at West Ham in that time (in lost wages). And he wants to go.
"You can't keep a player who doesn't want to be there."
